New Emergency Hero StoryBook Walk Teaches Kids How to Be Prepared for Emergencies

DUARTE, CA – A brand-new StoryBook Walk is now available, bringing emergency preparedness to life for kids and families in a fun and interactive way! “Do You Want To Be an Emergency Hero” follows the adventures of Emergency Girl and her team of real-life heroes—including a firefighter, a police officer, the city mayor, and even a wise grandmother—as they teach children essential safety tips to stay prepared in case of an emergency.

Designed to engage young readers and their families, this StoryBook Walk encourages kids to take the Emergency Hero Oath by learning important preparedness skills such as:
Building an emergency kit with essential supplies
Creating a family emergency plan (including pets!)
Knowing how to stay calm and take action during an emergency
Understanding where to get important updates when an emergency happens in their community

To make the experience even more impactful, families can receive an optional Emergency Planning Book to complete together, reinforcing the lessons learned along the walk. Children who take the Emergency Hero Oath can also receive a special Hero’s Oath sticker, making them official Emergency Heroes!

One of the most exciting features of this StoryBook Walk is a custom panel where families can scan QR codes to access real-time emergency updates and preparedness resources from local agencies.

“This StoryBook Walk is a fantastic way to engage children in emergency preparedness while making learning fun,” said Adam Knight, Author, Founder and CEO of Curo Managed Print Production. “By empowering kids and families with this knowledge, we’re helping create a safer and more resilient community.”
